Mountain Adventures - peak Communism
Djirgital (~1800 m) (or Dzhergatol or Dzhirgital) — is a small village just on the edge of the Pamir mountain.
This small village is a real gate to the Pamir as there is a good connection with Tajikistani capital Dushanbe (~900m): by car (8-10 hour) or by plane (~1 hour).
It seems to be a good idea to come here and spend at least one night at 1800m for preliminary acclimatization instead of taking direct helicopter flight from Dushanbe to Moskvin Medow BC (4300m) .
That would reduce chance to get AMS, HAPE or HACE .
